MIXED MEDIA PIECES

The pieces in this gallery vary in size, from 36" x 24" down to 8.5" x 11". They are completed on a variety of paper types including poster board, vellum, and watercolor paper. I use a variety of techniques but each piece is comprised of at least two, including, hand drawing, CAD created section or plan, watercolor, colored pencil, marker, Illustrator, and pen.

CRADLE A NEW FABLE

Everything is linked. Our hands with our choices, our love, and when those connections become a reality, it makes all the difference. We have to hang onto the ledge until we fully grasp the meaning of it all and pull ourselves up. This piece was created from conception as a sketch, to implementation as a stenciled piece on a brick wall. The piece is meant to be seen from the kitchen window, out through the bars over the window. Similar to some love, this piece was short lived and erased from the wall.

QUOTATION SERIES

During a time of reflection, this series was created in response to readings pertaining to architectural theory. There were a variety of authors and themes. The pieces that were created are an immediate and direct response to a sentence, paragraph, or writing as a whole.

Mutations

When you enter a space, think about all the people that were there before you or those that come after you. To me, the quote below reflects the agile nature of adaption that buildings need to have.

The Image of the City

Remember all the cities you have been to? What do you remember the most? For me, it is usually like the quote below; the wide open spaces, the boats, and how architecture becomes the picture frame.

Central Spaces

Central spaces, whether it be a square, promenade, or park, are essential to community engagement. This theme continues from the medieval times until today and will be for as long as we remain social.

The Idea of a Town

The space you are in at that moment is what resonates forever in your memories and dreams. Worry not about what they find 100 years from now, worry more about what you found in that moment.

Field Conditions

Boundaries and borders are perhaps irrelevant as you begin to seek change. Where do you make the most change? Out on the plazas and down the boulevards? Thickened surfaces.
